The Best Part is the Getting There

Hey there,

I'm sure we've all heard that the best part of something is the journey. The "friends we made along the way". The pursuit of the adventure. But still, I don't think that's celebrated and encouraged enough, especially when it comes to creative hobbies.

We should celebrate the process of the making of. Enjoy the process of the making of. Not just look at the final product and judge it for that.

I would even go a step further. We should value unfinished projects or projects that went nowhere just as much as finished projects. Celebrate them. And I don't just mean a "good luck next time champ!". Because the best part, the most important part is the the getting there.

If you've worked on a personal project for forever but never finished it, who says you have to if you aren't enjoying doing it anymore? It shouldn't devalue all that work just because you don't have a final product. You still went through the process of making a project etc etc.

The best part of a project should be the making of. So don't devalue that! Think about it this way. That end goal you were working towards, the end of that project, if you could do that in a couple minutes would it really matter that much? Even if it was amazing, it wouldn't matter.

Spend time doing projects you enjoy. And please, enjoy the process, the getting there. It's the best part.
